Hill, Heath marry in Cooper Landing
Jennifer Lynn Hill and Michael George Heath of Soldotna were married in a private ceremony Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Cooper Lake in Cooper Landing.
The bride is the daughter of Retired Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Robert E. Hill II and the late Suk Cha Hill of Eagle River. Jennifer is a graduate of Chugiak High School. She is employed by the state of Alaska as a work force development specialist.
The groom is the son of Gordon and Bonnie Heath of Attica, Kan., and the grandson of Delores Heath of Attica and LaVerne Lunsford of Medicine Lodge, Kan.
He is a graduate of Attica High School, Hutchinson Community College and also attended Wichita State University. He is employed by Vetco Gray in Soldotna as a warehouse coordinator and service representative
The couple lives in Soldotna.
Leonard and Betty Malmquist
Malmquists celebrate 60th anniversary
Betty J. Abbott and Leonard E. Malmquist will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005. They were married Sept. 24, 1945 in Pine City, Minn.
The couple moved to Minneapolis, Minn., where their three sons, Len A., David L. and Michael I., were born. In 1950 the family moved to Portland, Ore., where their daughter, Nikki M., was born, and lived there until 1973.
The Malmquists move to Kenai in May 1995 to be closer to their children. Their son, Len, and his wife live in Soldotna and daughter, Nikki, lives in Nikiski. Their son, David and his family live in Vista, Calif., and son, Michael and his family live in Portland, Ore.
Betty and Leonard also have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Leonard retired from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1987 after 42 years.
