A man is dead and his brother charged with stabbing him after an altercation between the two occurred Friday night in Sterling.

Alaska State Troopers and Central Emergency Services medics responded to a home off Cedarwood in Sterling at 10:38 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. They found Paul M. Gibson, 32, with a knife wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alaska Bureau of Investigation officers interviewed several witnesses at the scene. According to troopers, the witnesses said Gibson and his brother, Jesse A. Gibson, 34, had argued and physically fought in the kitchen. Sometime during the fight, Paul Gibson received the knife wound.
