Tyler Glidden ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns to lead Kenai Central past Northern Lights Conference foe Homer 21-16 on Saturday at Ed Hollier Field. Kenai improves to 4-0 in the league and 5-2 overall. The Mariners fall to 1-3 and 3-4.
Skyview netters come back to notch defeat of Kodiak
Skyview started its volleyball match against Kodiak on Friday night showing that it is just like any other team. The host Panthers finished the Northern Lights Conference affair showing that they can be a pretty good team.
Kenai girls nab boroughs
The Kenai Central girls and Seward boys cross country teams won Kenai Peninsula Borough titles on Saturday in Seward.
Nikiski flies past Barrow
Though the opponent is to be determined, Nikiski ensured itself a first-round home playoff game with a 47-7 win over visiting Greatland Conference rival Barrow on Saturday. The Bulldogs remain unbeaten in league play and improve to 5-2 overall. The Whalers fall to 3-2 and 4-3. Nikiski will host Eielson next Saturday at noon with a conference championship on the line.
