Hospice of the Central Peninsula board of directors, volunteers and staff would like to acknowledge our appreciation of Rep. Kurt Olson. His recommendation to add a line item to the state budget to help fund our loan closet will greatly affect our organization and services to this community.
Hospice has been appropriated a FY 2007 Designated Legislative Grant per AS 37.05.316 for the purpose of equipment replacement in the amount of $10,000.
The hospice loan closet has grown into an increasingly popular source of medical equipment and supplies for those who have a need. We have served and average of two persons a day during our business hours this past year. Astounding!
Our loan closet is available to the entire community on a loan basis. Shower transfer chairs, walkers, wheelchairs and electric hospital beds are among the most requested items. As a result of the increased demand for specific equipment, additional inventory will help to better serve our community needs.
Hospice of the Central Peninsula has served dying persons, their families and bereaved individuals in the communities of the Kenai Peninsula since 1987. Services are available at no charge.
