It's a small world

Hi, y'all,

No matter where you roam, no matter how far from home, you will always run into someone from your hometown.

Riding the train into town today I overheard some people talking about what they were doing in Sydney. Turns out they were here on a church mission for the Georgia Baptist Convention and two of them were from Georgia.

Joey W. Faulk IV, a Georgia Southern student from Blythe, Ga.; Chris Fuller, of Macon, whose wife is from Edgefield, S.C., and Dan Walker of Salt Lake City, will be in Sydney during the Olympic Games to talk about Christianity. Fuller also was in charge of the chaplains at the Savannah athletes village during the 1996 Games.

Faulk is taking a semester off from school and will be in Australia until just before Christmas.

"People are very, very receptive," said Faulk. "More than I expected. I'd say they're more open to talk to you. It's been a great experience for me."

Until tomorrow,
