The Kenai City Council, by unanimous acclimation, passed a resolution Wednesday night supporting the United States of America in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
The resolution, on behalf of all "men, women and children of the Kenai community," proclaimed support of the president and the nation's national security team in protecting and defending the nation against "cowardly and deadly terrorist actions."
It was also suggested that the city look into purchasing a plaque and tree to be placed at Leif Hansen Memorial Park in honor of the dead.
The resolution ends with the words "We are strong. We are one. We will survive," and a quote from the Shawnee chief, Tecumseh:
"A single twig breaks, but the bundle of twigs is strong."
