KPBA meeting slated

The Kenai Peninsula Builders Association will hold its general membership meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Froso's Restaurant in Soldotna. The borough mayoral candidates will be the featured speakers. All members are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 283-8071.

CANS film festival returns

On Thursday, the Kambe Theatre in Kenai will provide free admission to its movies and a junior-sized popcorn for the donation of three canned food items to benefit the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank at the Kambe's annual CANS Film Festival. For more information, call 262-6111.

Car seat inspections available

Central Emergency Services in conjunction with the Kenai Peninsula SAFE KIDS will conduct free car seat inspections from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at CES at 231 S. Binkley St. For more information, call Gary Hale at 262-4792.

Bereavement dinner set

Hospice of the Central Peninsula will host a bereavement dinner at 7 p.m. Friday at Paradisos for mothers who have had children die. For more information or to make a reservation, call 398-9162.

Skate classes planned

Registration for the Homer Ice Rinks learn to skate classes will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the rink. Children ages 4 to 8 are eligible to participate. A parent orientation and learn to skate demonstration also will be conducted. For more information, call (907) 235-2647.

Help offered for home daycare providers

The LeeShore Center is a sponsor in the USDA child and adult care food program that is administered by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development.

The same meals will be made available to enrolled children in each of its sponsored child care homes and it will be provided at no charge without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. For more information or to enroll, call Jennette at 283-4707.
