Library is where the people are; vote 'Yes'

Kenai city residents should vote "Yes" on Proposition 2. A new library will be a welcomed addition to your community. My wife and I shop extensively in Kenai and have often used your library. I understand that the $2 million bond will only be used when funding for the total cost is secured. However, to secure the funding the community must show its willingness to help with the building. Please vote "Yes."

Libraries were supposed to become obsolete with the advent of the Internet. However, I believe the Internet has sparked a revival of library use. People realize the Internet is impersonal. The library is where people are. The new Homer library is always busy when I go there. There is something satisfying about being in a building with other people surrounded by books and magazines and people on computers. Better than being alone.

Don't forget all the children's activities that go on there. Having a separate area for these kinds of activities would be wonderful. Vote "Yes."
