Homer resident Eric Curtis Reisdorf died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, at his home in Homer. He was 49.
A wake and potluck will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Down East Saloon on East End Road in Homer.
He was born May 23, 1950, in Seaside, Ore. He moved to Alaska in 1975. He lived in Anchorage until two years ago, when he moved to Homer to live with his father. He was a pile driver and fisherman, until getting hurt five years ago. He most recently ran the Down East Laundromat in Homer.
The family wrote, "Eric was a very loving father, brother and son with a huge heart. He would drop everything to lend a helping hand to friends and family. He will be very much missed."
His dad said, "He came into the world weighing 7 1/2 pounds. He went out weighing 9 3/4 pounds." (In reference to his cremation.)
He is survived by his father, John "Grumpy" Reisdorf, of Homer; son, Brock Reisdorf, of Anchorage; daughter, Katie Reisdorf, of Anchorage; sister, Rebecca Patterson, of Astoria, Ore.; brother, Jeff Reisdorf, of Westport, Wash.; wife, Anisha and three stepdaughters.
Memorial donations may me be sent to the Seafarer's Memorial Fund, In Memory of Eric Reisdorf, P.O. Box 226, Homer, AK 99603.
