Tustumena Elementary

Posted: Wednesday, September 22, 2004

Many thanks to Chris Fallon and Kathy Musick at Jersey Subs for their generous donation of school supplies earlier this month. Families in need of supply items for their children may contact a teacher or principal to acquire them.

The initial meeting of the site council is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday in the conference room. Items on the agenda are election of officers; review of annual instructional goals and playground rules; and a report of the fourth quarter cocurricular account funds for the 2003-04 school year.

Superintendent Donna Peterson will spend the day at Tustumena on Tuesday. She will observe teaching and learning in each of the classrooms, as well as visit with the principal. An hour has been set aside for parents to meet informally with her from 3 to 4 p.m. in the library. Dr. Peterson will be joined by Paula Christiansen, who is the district's director of elementary instruction.

Five students are spearheading the task of preparing a PowerPoint presentation of the school to be shared with the school board Nov. 15. Those students are Zach Klunder, Cassie Sheridan, Erik Skjold, Kaitlyn VanMeter and Alicia West. This slide program will be shared with the site council and the PTO following the presentation to the board.
