Concert set to praise

Richard Allen Farmer will hold a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Kenai New Life Assembly of God. Farmer has served as a pastor, worship leader and dean of chapel at Taylor University and Gordon College. For more information, call 262-7266.

Kids’ night out planned

The Lighthouse Community Church will host Kids’ Night Out from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Van rides will be available. Children in grades kindergarten through six are eligible to attend. For more information, call 776-8234 or 252-4454.

Christian convention set

Alaska Christian Ministries will host Let Your Light Shine, a Christian convention at 6:15 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Kenai New Life Assembly of God. Featured speakers will be Richard Allen Farmer, Kent Redfearn, Michael DuPree, Wes Bartel and Terry Baxter. Workshop topics include growing leaders, church governance, Sunday school, worship and youth issues. The workshops are designed to teach practical skills and provide encouragement for all.

There will be a no-host pastor/leadership luncheon at noon Monday at Froso’s restaurant in Soldotna. The forum subject will be “Ministry in an Age of Rush” featuring a panel of the convention guest speakers.

Clothes available

Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.

Awana classes set to begin

College Heights Baptist Church will hold Awana classes from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at 44440 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Awana is a weekly program for kids with games, Bible memory and a chapel time. The program runs throughout the school year. For more information, call 262-3220 from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Catholic faith to be discussed

Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Kenai and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Soldotna will host the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) at 7 p.m. Oct. 3 at O’Neill Hall in Soldotna at 222 W. Redoubt Ave.

RCIA is the process for individuals to become Catholic and receive sacraments of initiation, baptism, confirmation and the Eucharist. For more information, call Sister Joyce Ross at 283-4555 or Marlys at 262-4749.
