ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man suffered a ruptured spleen when he was stabbed by another man in an argument after a day of drinking, police said.
Doug Gipson, 48, was bleeding profusely when he arrived at the Alaska Native Medical Center just after 10 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Sammie Jerry, 46, was arrested at his apartment. He was being held at Cook Inlet Pre-Trial. No bail had been set.
Investigators said the two men and Jerry's girlfriend had been drinking at Gipson's apartment all day Thursday. Jerry left the home after he and his girlfriend argued.
Gipson drove the woman to Jerry's apartment later, and the two men apparently argued over how Jerry treated the woman. Gipson hit Jerry in the head, and Jerry then stabbed Gipson with a butcher knife police said.
