Gerald "Jerry" L. Fisher of Aztec, N.M., died Wed., Sept. 19, 2001, at his home after battling a long fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 68.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the United Church of Farmington with Brad Perry officiating. Burial will be at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Farmington, N.M., with military honors.
Mr. Fisher was born Nov. 1, 1932, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Herbert and Kathryn Fisher. He spent his lifetime in New Mexico and graduated from Farmington High School.
Mr. Fisher worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company for 21 years and for the British Petroleum Company for 14 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Kathryn Fisher.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Fisher, of their family home in Aztec, N.M.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Delores Fisher of Flora Vista, N.M., and Curtis and Toni Fisher of Sterling; daughter, Tracy Fisher of Aztec, N.M.; five grandchildren, Alicia, Jerrod, Cameron, Branden and Kaylee Fisher; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette and Elmer Martin of Ignacio, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Hospice at 601 N. Riley in Farmington, N.M., 87401.
Arrangements were made by the Alternative Society.
