St. Joseph, Mo., resident Jeffery M. Worley died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, as a result of an accident. He was 24.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 23, at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Graveside military services will be presented by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program.
Mr. Worley was born July 9, 1981, in St. Joseph and was a lifelong resident. On Sept. 4, 2004, he married Wendy Leigh Wiles. He was employed at Affiliated Foods and attended Missouri Western State University, majoring in business.
He was a member of Caring First Church and the Missouri Militia. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter and served 4 1/2 years in the Air Force in numerous Middle Eastern countries.
Mr. Worley was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gerald Barnett.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy Leigh Wiles; mother, Vicki Worley of Tampa, Fla.; father and stepmother, Steve and Elaine Worley of St. Joseph; brother, Lee Anson Worley of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Keila Diane Worley of Port Ritchey, Fla.; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Ruby Worley of St. Joseph; maternal grandmother, Loretta Barnett of Texas; stepbrother, Pete Diaz; stepsisters, Alison and Michelle Diaz; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Nancy Wiles of Kenai; and brother-in-law, Charles Wiles.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be sent to Jeffery Worley Memorial Fund c/o any Bank Midwest.
