Truesdells celebrate 30 years together

Pat and Patti Truesdell of Soldotna celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Sept. 18.

The couple was married Sept. 18, 1970, in Huntington Beach, Calif.

They met in high school, married after Patti graduated and moved to Alaska in 1973 with their 10-month-old daughter, Tami.

The Truesdells have four children and two grandchildren.

The couple celebrated their anniversary by flying to California to visit with family and attending Patti's 30th high school reunion.

King, Shockley plan December wedding

Laurel King of Evans Mill, N.Y., and PFC James Shockley of Fort Drum, N.Y., will marry Dec. 23 in a 2 p.m. ceremony at the Kingswood United Methodist Church in Clovis, N.M. Mark Scott will officiate.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James King of Jonesboro, Ark. and Janice King of Clovis. She graduated from Nikiski High School in 1996 and is employed by Community Bank in Clayton, N.Y.

The future groom is the son of Bill and Mary Shockley of Clovis. He graduated from Clovis High School in 1998 and is enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Anderson, Engel to wed in Minnesota

Lindsay Morgan Anderson of Ely, Minn., and Daniel Joel Engel of Kenai have announced their plans to marry in November at St. Mary's Church in Tower, Minn.

The future bride is the daughter of Steve and Bonnie Anderson of Ely. She is a 1996 graduate of Virginia High School and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College this year with a degree in environmental studies.

The groom-to-be is the son of Larry and Linda Engel of Kenai. He is a 1996 graduate of Kenai Central High School and recently graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with majors in environmental studies and geography. His is employed by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.

Robison-Burkhart, Miller marry in July

Lacy Robison-Burkhart and Airman E-3 Robert E. Miller were married July 22 in Bremerton, Wash., in a private ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Rhonda and Mark Burkhart of Poulsbo, Wash. She graduated from Central Kitsap High School in January and works at JC Penney in Silverdale, Wash.

The groom is the son of Genita and Joe Thirlwell of Nikiski, and David and Sharon Miller of Soldotna. He graduated from Soldotna High School in 1998 and is stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, CVN 70.

The Millers reside in Bremerton at this time.
