The PTA membership drive is off to a great start. The goal is to have 51 families join. So far, 31 families have registered, and the school staff appreciates everyone's support. The class that has the most families join will get an ice cream party. Mrs. Thompson's class is in the lead with 10 families. Mr. Kircher's class is close behind with eight.
To enhance students' understanding of the Southcentral Alaska region and space exploration, several teachers took their students on field trips. Ms. Courtright's fourth-grade class visited the Pratt Museum and the Alaska SeaLife Center. The class focused on Native history and sea life. Mrs. Thompson's third-graders took part in the Challenger Learning Center of Alaska's special program, and Ms. Buben's second- and third- graders visited the Soldotna Historical Museum.
