The awards for cleanest desks of the week went to Kasey McGee and Naomi Pettey.

Student council elections were last week. Kaylee Burger was elected president; Leah Howell, vice president; and Mickelle Waters and Lindsay Thompson will be secretary-treasurers. The junior representative is Jessica Saunders.

The chapel Quiz-Em for the month of September took place last Wednesday. The Lower Learning Center first-place winner was Alex Pettey, and Jesse Puletau came in second. The Upper Learning Center first-place winner was Julianne Pettey, and Zachary Thompson came in second.

Last Friday, the Upper Learning Center students used compasses to practice navigational skills. They learned about the ability employed by migrating animals navigating via the Earth's magnetic field.

The Lower Learning Center students will have a field trip Monday. They will go to the Campbell Creek Science Center to learn about dynamic Earth. The cost for the trip is $10 per student. They will depart the school at 8 a.m. and return between 6:30 and 7 p.m.

The Lower Learning Center recently got a new computer, and the yearbook staff received an Olympus digital camera to use around the school.
