Hockey referee seminar set for Sunday

A hockey referee seminar is scheduled for Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Soldotna Sports Center. In order to become a certified hockey referee a person must attend a seminar each year. Participants should bring skates, helmet and a whistle for the on-ice portion. Lunch will be provided. Preregistration is not necessary. Hawkwalk to be held Sunday

The annual Hawkwalk 10-kilometer run/walk and 30-kilometer bike ride will be held Sunday. Entry fee is $25 or $100 in pledges for community members. Registration begins at 2 p.m. at the Resurrection Roadhouse with the race beginning at 3 p.m. Proceeds benefit the high school athletic program at Seward High School.
