Kids welcome to gather

Every first and third Sunday of every month, seventh- through 12th-graders are invited to hang out at the Peninsula Grace Brethren Church youth center from 6 to 8 p.m. to showcase their talent from singing to beatboxing and poetry, or simply to hang out and enjoy a beverage from its coffee shop. Study, fellowship, worship set

Saint Luke Lutheran Church offers several faith strengthening opportunities during the week. The parish's Wednesday 10:30 a.m. fellowship/study is focusing on Leviticus. We attempt to cover one chapter a session and meet at 48095 Andrews Avenue for approximately one hour. Our Wednesday evening activities take place at the Parish Hall, 43055 Kenai Spur Highway, and consist of a potluck fellowship, Vespers Service and detailed analysis of basic Christian doctrine, currently focusing on the Holy Spirit's work in directing the Christian life.

Bible study live or online

A King James Bible study group meets at 7 p.m. on Thursdays on East Echo Lake Road in Soldotna and also offers 'live' teachings on Skype video. For more information, call 262-3507 or e-mail kingjamesbiblystudy@gmail.com.

Saturday Bible study on tap

The Nikiski Nazarene Church will hold a Bible study on Esther at 9:30 a.m. Saturdays at the church at Mile 18 of the Kenai Spur Highway. It is open to all women.

Clothes Quarters open

The Clothes Quarters located at Our Lady of the Angels at 225 South Spruce Street in Kenai is open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesdays and from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. the first Saturday of each month. For more information, call 283-9371 or 283-4555.

Recovery program offered

The Lighthouse Community Church will hold Recovery Now, a scripturally based recovery program, at 7 p.m. Fridays. The program is for anyone who is or has dealt with addiction. For more information, call 252-6445.

Thrift store open

The Lighthouse Community Church thrift store, The Sandbox, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The store is in the office building next to the church in Nikiski.

Soldotna Church of God offerings

Soldotna Church of God will be providing an Anger Management Class with Pastor Alan Humphries FREE of charge at 7pm every Tuesday evening from September 28th - October 19th.

The Soldotna Church of God is hosting a Halloween family fun night on October 31st from 6pm--9pm.

Soldotna Day Aglow Bible Study

Soldotna Day Aglow will start a fall bible study called "The Love Revolution" by Joyce Meyers.

The Focus will be on what is love and how to put it into action. The study will be held at Peninsula Christian Center behind the Salvation Army in Soldotna beginning Wed, Sept 8th. Meeting every Wednesday, coffee and fellowship at 9:30AM, meeting starts at 10:00AM. Child care provided. For more info call 398-6986.

Women invited to gather

Kairos For Women

Kairos Outside Alaska is an ecumenical organization that ministers to women who have felt the alienation, frustration, and worthlessness often associated with having someone they love go to prison or having been there themselves. The Soldotna Christian Retreat Center begins Friday, November 19 through Sunday, November 21, and is offered at no cost to the guests. Women's group holds luncheon

God's Girls, formerly Peninsula Take-a-Break, is a vital network of Christian women connecting to impact our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The first luncheon of the season is Wednesday October 13 from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Solid Rock Conference Center. Price for the luncheon is $10. For r information call Susan at 335-6789.

Catholicism classes available

Classes for anyone interested in the Catholic Church will be held each Wednesday evening at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church starting October 6th. The classes will be held in O'Neill Hall on Redoubt Ave. at 6:30 p.m. each week. Those attending will learn about the teaching of the Church based on the teachings of Jesus Christ to His disciples. This process is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA. Anyone interested in seeking this way of life may call the Rectory to sign up at 262-4725.
