Hockey seminars set

A USA Hockey seminar for officials will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Soldotna Sports Center. This is an advanced seminar for level three officials only. A seminar for officials at levels one, two and three will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 23. Officials are required to take a seminar each year to be certified to be eligible to officiate hockey. For more information, call Dick Waisanen at 262-6298.

Photo guild to meet

The Kenai Peninsula Photography Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redoubt Elementary School in Soldotna. Members will view and discuss recent photos, talk about neutral density filters and plan topics for future meetings. It is open to the public. Participants are encouraged to bring photos or slides to share. For more information, call Marianne at 398-0649.

Used book sale scheduled

A used book sale will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Soldotna Public Library at 235 Binkley St. Videos also will be sold. For more information, call 262-4227.

Guitar lesson available

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula is offering guitar lessons from 6:20 to 7:30 p.m. every Monday beginning Oct. 3 at the club. Children ages 9 to 18 are eligible to participate. Dustin Aaronson will be the instructor. The registration deadline is Wednesday. For more information, call 283-2682, ext. 233.

Hospice training announced

Hospice of the Central Peninsula will offer volunteer training in October. Training will be from held from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 17, 18, 20, 24 and 25 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Soldotna. Space is limited. It is open to the public. To preregister, call 262-0453.
