The Service volleyball team defeated Homer Saturday at Homer High School to win the 2005 Peninsula Challenge volleyball tournament.
The scores in the championship game were 25-11, 15-25 and 14-25.
All-tournament players were Service's Adriana Aukusitino, Pasadeanna Aukusitino and Sylvia Bullock, Homer's Brittany VanSandt and Rachel Bornheimer, Skyview's Anna Bonebrake, Eagle River's Nicole Vitto and Brooke Hanes and Soldotna's Paige Blackburn and Laura Harro.
Skyview finished third at the tournament, while Soldotna was fifth. Skyview lost to Homer in three games in a bid to get into the championship match.
Soldotna coach Pako Whannell said the highlight for her team was taking a game off Service in Friday's pool play. The Stars were the only team to do so in pool play.
"I told them they had nothing to lose in that game and they really shined," Whannell said. "I think they played their best gave ever against Service."
