A great time was had by all at the Kenai Peninsula State Fair. Contributions from Marathon Oil Co., Homer Electric Association, Chevron Texaco, Agrium, Wells Fargo Bank, Inlet View Construction, Canterwood Cabins and Spenard Builders Supply went a long way toward making this fair a huge success.
Our Exhibit Hall was sponsored by the following: Ninilchik General Store, Kristie Leaf State Farm Agency, American Legion and Auxiliary Post No. 18, Chinook Tesoro, Beemun’s, Peninsula Clarion, Trinity Enterprises, Happy Valley Bar, Accordia of Alaska in Homer, Soldotna Professional Pharmacy, Inlet View Lodge, Peak, Homer News, Echo Lake Feed, United Rentals, Sweeney’s Clothing, Eagle Wind Video, Hammered Wombat, Culligan Water, Ninilchik Traditional Council and Airport Equipment Rental. A big thank you to all of our sponsors. We would not have a fair without them.
For me, I love watching volunteers across the peninsula come forward to make this fair happen. We had more volunteers than I can mention, but I can’t let this fair go by without acknowledging the commitment of our youth. Every summer the grounds are brought to life by peninsula 4-Hers and their families.
This year brought a new group of volunteers coordinated by the Ninilchik Traditional Council’s Char Florence, Kristie Hanson and Annitta Roberts. I would like to acknowledge Arthur Flores, Briana Shropshier, Kaitlyn Nolan, Treva Evans, Amber Self, Robert Self, Mike Pinnow, Croy Mossman, Justin Claypack, Chris Smith, Alana Goins, Scot Goins, Nicolas Kelson, Hannah Kelson, Lillian Leach, Will Sinclair, Krista Sinclair, Helen Igou, Randy Igou Jr., Carol Igou, Matthew Trails, Chris Derr-Kratsas, Tammy Hangfleser and Steven Kitson. It is wonderful to see youth step forward and volunteer their time.
As most of us know, without volunteers we would be lost. Thank you all.
