The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge will dedicate a new trail at the visitor center on Ski Hill Road Saturday.
Named the Centennial Trail in honor of the National Wildlife Refuge System's 100th anniversary, the path forms a 3-mile round trip loop off the popular Keen Eye Nature Trail.
The event starts at 1 p.m. when refuge staff will hike with visitors to the starting point of the new trail. Visitors will see where the Centennial Time Capsule has been buried, to be opened in 2103.
Following the hike, goodies will be passed out to visitors and Dan Pascucci will perform humorous and fun songs for all to enjoy. Hot chocolate and cider with cookies will be provided.
