Community group to meet

KWF Volunteers to get party

The Kenai Watershed Forum will host a membership volunteer appreciation party from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Soldotna Creek Park Pavilion. Door prizes and a watershed presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. For more information, e-mail Josselyn O'Connor at

Donations for veterans sought

Donations are being sought for the annual all-veterans picnic to be held Saturday at the American Legion Post in Kenai. For more information, call Wanda at 283-0830.

Archery club

The Archery Club will move its Saturday morning shooting matches to the Kenai Baptist Church on the Kenai Spur Highway. This is the indoor range for the club. It is open to the public.

The club also will hold a 3D shoot at 1 p.m. Saturday at the outdoor range off North Arc Loop instead of in October to let those people who work the slope a chance to shoot.

Soccer coaches sought

Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club is seeking coaches for the 2007-08 season. Coaches must have an E license with a D license preferred. Tuition cost for certification will be reimbursed by the club. Interested community members are asked to send a letter of intent to coach and include a summary of coaching and working with youth to or mail to KPSC, Board of Directors, P.O., Box 393, Kenai, AK 99611. The deadline to apply is Monday.

Life guard class available

The Nikiski pool will offer an American Red Cross Lifeguard class Tuesday through Oct. 7. Participants must be at least 15.

Fees are $135 per participant or free for those who qualify in the TAP Program. Space is limited. The deadline to register is Oct. 2. For more information regarding the class or the TAP program, call Nigel at 776-8800.

Student housing to be discussed

A meeting to discuss housing for Kenai Peninsula College students will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Mining and Petroleum Training Building at the college at 34820 College Drive. For more information, call 262-0300.
