Kids helping kids

Central Peninsula Hospital was presented with an array of gifts for hospitalized children by a special group of kids who attend the Boys and Girls Clubs of Soldotna. Group member Kayli Kitchens said they decided to use money raised through their Snack Shop at the Boys and Girls Club to help local children in need. They purchased games, blankets and toys for use by children who become inpatients at Central Peninsula Hospital. Gypsy Jolly, CPH Inpatient Nursing Director, thanked the group and added, "These presents will be very appreciated by our pediatric patients." Soldotna Boys and Girls Club Director, Kim Lee, explained that the group of children is part of the Boys and Girls "Torch Club" program. This year's national Torch Club focus was "Children Helping Children in Need," so the Torch Club's decision to purchase items for local children who are hospitalized fit nicely within their national theme.
