LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Peter Fonda will lead the Hollywood Christmas Parade of Stars.
Fonda will don his Captain America jacket from 1969's ''Easy Rider'' to be grand marshal of the 70th anniversary edition of the holiday parade through Hollywood on Nov. 25. He joins a list of grand marshals that includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Wayne and Charlton Heston.
''The way I see it, this holiday season will be one of hope and a time to pull together and remember the value of the American dream,'' the 61-year-old actor said Tuesday. ''It's an honor for me to lead the entertainment industry in sharing good will with our fellow Americans at such an important time in the history of our country.''
Proceeds from the sale of limited-edition signature ornaments will go to two charities that Fonda selected: Sixty percent to the American Red Cross for its Armed Forces Emergency Services Fund and 40 percent to the Nichris Fund for Cancer Research at the University of California, Los Angeles.
