Reader: Voters knew what they were doing

Posted: Wednesday, September 27, 2006

How come the Tax and Spend Guys always threaten to throw little school kids off the bluff every time folks talk about staying within a responsible, sustainable budget? How many times must they be reminded that we are, have been and will continue to fund our schools up to the maximum allowed by law? Don’t they realize their scare tactics get old?

Proposition 2 is not about schools, roads or even property tax. It is about the assembly breaking the law when they refused to put the sales tax increase in Ordinance 2005-09 automatically to a public vote, as required by state law; not throwing little kids off the bluff.

It is about the citizens of this borough demanding that the assembly obey all the laws, not just the ones they like.

It is about the citizens of this borough shouting that they really are informed voters and they did know what they were doing when they went to the polls last October.
