Chambers set schedules

* Nikiski Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon today at the Nikiski Recreation Center, at Mile 23.4 of the Kenai Spur Highway. The featured speaker will be Paul Perry. His topic will be the paramedics program at Kenai Peninsula College. For more information, call Judene at 776-5551.

* The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will meet at noon Tuesday at Froso's Restaurant. The featured speaker will be student of the month and city beautification.

Wage, hour seminar slated

The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development will hold an employer seminar from 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 17 at the Peninsula Job Center at 11312 of the Kenai Spur Highway, Suite 2. The topics will be employment security tax, employing people with disabilities and wage and hour issues.

Fisheries business assistance available

The Alaska Business Development Center Inc., renewed its Fisheries Business Assistance contract with the state of Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development and Division of Investments.

The contract enables the center to provide free or low cost business counseling and assistance to commercial harvesters and small businesses in the Alaska fishing industry.
