How would Miller have voted differently?
According to Joe Miller, (his source the Huffington Post), Sen. Lisa Murkowski has voted with the Democrats 300 times. In order to separate fact from fiction, I went to Bing, typed in "Votes by Lisa Murkowski," scrolled down to "Congressional Votes" database and looked at her votes for the last two years.
Looking at votes and issues in which she voted with the Democrats, most of them were on amendments, judge confirmations for other states, tabling motions, and cloture (a vote to stop debate), not to mention votes to adjourn for the day! When there is enough debate, it is time to get to the business of voting for the bill. Haven't you ever been in meetings when the debate dragged on forever?
In digesting these votes, check out what her vote was on the bill itself, not every vote leading up to it. You will probably find she votes more like 95 percent with Republicans. Does this make her a liberal? I don't think so. I agree with the Tea Party 85 percent of the time. Does that make me a liberal? Certainly not.
Joe Miller should explain how he would have voted differently on these votes. Yes, Washington is broken, but Lisa is good for Alaska with her seniority (not taken away), experience with the legislative processes, and helping constituents with problems caused by the bureaucracy. Yes, we need change but let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater. We need to write in her name and fill in the oval!
