Church holds rummage sale

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Redoubt in Soldotna will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. All funds raised will be sent to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina. For $5 people can fill up a bag of items. For more information, call Maggie or Violet at 262-3736.

Nikiski Bible study, Sunday school slated

North Star United Methodist Church will host a Disciple I Bible study class from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Mondays beginning Oct. 3 at the church. The course is based on a model of Jesus and his 12 disciples. Twelve people will study scripture for 32 weeks.

Also, the church’s morning Sunday school classes for youth and adults have resumed. For more information, call Laura Skiba, pastor, at 776-8732.

Revelation class begins

The Kenai Church of God, 14143 Kenai Spur Highway, will hold a weekly study on the Book of Revelation beginning Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and continuing for six weeks on the same day and time. This study is open to the community and will seek to help bring understanding to this part of the Bible. Discussion topics will include views on the timing of the rapture, the major players of the last days and understanding the judgments. Free child care will be provided. Catholic inquiry classes begin

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m., Our Lady of Angels and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic churches will conduct inquiry classes for those interested in learning about the Catholic Church.

Children’s program offered

The Lighthouse Community Church in Nikiski hosts a children’s program called Kids Night Out from 5 to 6:15 p.m. Sundays at the church. Children in grades kindergarten through sixth may attend. Rides to the meeting will be provided. For more information, call 776-8234, 776-5794 or 398-7779.

Fall Bible classes slated

The Women’s ministry of Kenai Christian Church will host the following Bible study classes at the church. Child care will be available for children ages infant through kindergarten. Children must be preregistered. For more information, call Valerie Morin at 283-7403:

· The Patriarchs: encountering the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 20; and

· Loved by God from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays through Dec. 8.

Soldotna Bible study continues

Soldotna Day Aglow continues Beth Moore’s 11-week Bible study course A Woman’s Heart: Gods Dwelling Place at 10 a.m. Wednesdays downstairs at Peninsula Christian Center. For more information, call Patty at 260-8011.

Clothes Quarters open

Clothes Quarters, in the back of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church parking lot at 225 Spruce St. in Kenai, will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Oct. 15 and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through October. For more information, call 283-4555.

Bible study group to meet

Nikiski Aglow’s 11-week Bible study classes titled “A Heart Like His” meets at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays at North Star Methodist Church and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturdays at Nikiski Nazarene Church at both locations. Kenai church to start 2 morning services
