Lifelong Alaskan and Clam Gulch resident Mr. Lawrence David Shell, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at his home in Clam Gulch. He was 57.
A celebration of Mr. Shell's life and wake will be held 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 at the Clam Shell Lodge in Clam Gulch.
Mr. Shell was born Nov. 6, 1949 to Lewis and Ione (Soper) Shell in Anchorage. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. Mr. Shell enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmachining and hunting.
"Lawrence was truly home in Clam Gulch. It's where he raised his family, had many friends and lived his life to the fullest. There will be many toasts in his honor at the Clam Shell in his memory," wrote the family.
Mr. Shell was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Shell. He is survived by his son, David Shell of Clam Gulch; mother, Ione Shell of Anchorage; brothers, Robert and Dennis Shell both of Anchorage; sisters, Julie Levesque of Clam Gulch and Linda Raatz of Anchorage; and grandchildren, Jesse, Anthony and Jacob Shell, all of Clam Gulch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shell Family, P.O. Box 102, Clam Gulch, AK 99568.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
