As a taxpayer, I am concerned that the take over of Sears Elementary in Kenai by Kaleidoscope isn't what many of us thought it would be.
Why is Kaleidoscope using the public school buses when some of the other charter schools aren't, and why are they allowed to have the public school lunches when the others do not?
Also it is my understanding that only about nine classes are being held in the Sears building. I understand they need space for music and science labs, but do they really need all those extra school rooms. Now Mountain View is bursting at the seams with many classes well over the number of students that need to be in a class for proper learning.
I am puzzled by this spending of my tax dollars. If one charter school gets these amenities, then why not all the charter schools?
