Run takes off on successful path

Posted: Monday, October 01, 2007

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers and participants who helped make the Elite Health & Fitness Mud Run Challenge on Aug. 18 a success. We had a great turnout and I'm pretty sure everyone had a fun, yet dirty time.

First, a big thank you goes to the Nikiski Fire Department for taking the time to turn our dirt into a mud pit. They also provided blood pressure tests after the race. I would also like to thank the Blue Grouse for providing racers with a water station and coupons; Bill Kelley with Grace Painting who painted the exterior of the gym; Lowell at Polar Screens for the logo and shirts; Amy at Her Move Sports for providing coupons; Janie Odgers at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce; Elite employees; Kelly Hitchcock, Diana Murrieta and Darin Hagen; to all of the gym members who spread the word about the Mud Run; Cheryl and Austin Knight; Darrell and Joy Hagen; Barbara Roland; Matt Wilson and Robyn Sullens of KSRM; and Rusty Swan.

I appreciate all of the support we got and continue to get. We are already looking forward to next year's Mud Run. It will be bigger and better, so don't miss it.
