Make weird, wearable, fitted rubbery masks to wear for Halloween at the Mask making workshop 7 p.m. Oct. 18 and 25. The class is an introduction to form fitting techniques and is open to those 15 and older. Another class to teach the art of papier-mache face masks or head dresses will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 14 and 21. The fee for both classes is $25, including supplies.

Creating Independence through Student-owned Strategies will be held at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at the Homer High School. The class, offered to parents of fourth through 12th graders, will help students learn the strategies needed for more effective and efficient learning. The strategies focus on student learning through reading, writing, talking and listening.
