It's prime time to read

Prime Time Family Reading Time, a nationwide program bringing families and storytellers together, will continue at 6 p.m. today at the Kenai Community Library. Health snacks will be donated by local chefs, books are provided, and door prizes will be awarded.

Challenger center has program for home schoolers

The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai is offering science workshops for home school students beginning this week. Sessions will meet Tuesday and Oct. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Chamber to meet

The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly luncheon meeting at noon Tuesday at the Riverside House in Soldotna. The speaker will be Diana McKenney, president of the League of Women Voters. For more information, call 262-9814.

Doctor to visit preschool

Soldotna Cooperative Preschool will feature Dr. Carole Buchholz at 7 p.m. Thursday at the preschool, located in the Christ Lutheran Church on Soldotna Lane. Her presentation will include information on child development and kindergarten readiness.

Candidate forum planned

The Kenai Peninsula Chapter of the League of Women Voters will host a candidate forum Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Kenai Peninsula College Commons. Candidates running for House seats in Districts 7, 8 and 9 and the Senate seat in District E have been invited.
