DEC Commissioner to serve on national children's health committee

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Michele Brown has been chosen to serve as a member of the national Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee.

The committee advises the Environmental Protection Agency on national children's health priorities.

Brown was named to the post by EPA Administrator Christine Whitman.

Brown currently serves as chair of the Environmental Council of States Children's Health Workgroup, a nonprofit association of state enviornmental commissioners.
