I salute the Clarion’s editorial on Sunday (Sept. 17) regarding the unlimited property tax exemption presently given to citizens over the age of 65 (seniors) living on the Kenai Peninsula.
I am a senior (67 years of age), and I do not believe my kids and their spouses and my grandchildren and my nieces and nephews should pay my property tax. The Clarion’s editorial is correct, “The assembly needs to bite the bullet and cap the exemption at the state mandated $150,000, period.”
