Posted: Sunday, October 03, 2010

It is in the interest of our community that I invite you to contact me for a candlelight vigil for Mental Health Awareness week, Oct. 3-7. Suicide Prevention Day was Sept.10 and I called Sound Off to give a small PSA for Mental Health and awareness Screenings at the Behavorial Health Center in Soldotna or Nakenu Family Center in Kenai. Our annual candlelight vigil for those who have suffered, psychiatric hospitalizations, had electric shock therapy because of lack of understanding and limited theraputic help. Please consider a candlelight vigil with me. It is usually held at the Kenai Pavillion by the Senior Center but I am open to other venues. Please call 260-5646 ask for Gina, I am a Peer Specialist Advocate for the Mentally Challenged and Substance Abuse and Suicide Prevention issues of the Kenai Peninsula.
