Peninsula resident Martha P. Stump died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage with her family by her side after complications from surgery. She was 89.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at her daughter's home in Soldotna. Call Tami at 262-5206 for directions. Private services will be held in Troy, Mont. at Troy Cemetery.
Ms. Stump was born April 11, 1921 in Rutherford, Pa., to Blaine and Sarah Hollingsworth. She grew up and attended school in Pennsylvania.
Ms. Stump married Max H. Smith on Nov. 16, 1940 in Pennsylvania. They were together until his death in 1984. She married Henry Stump in 1985 and remained with him until his death in 2003.
She moved back to Alaska on Aug. 20, where she lived until her death.
Ms. Stump was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her children, Sandee Crame' of Troy, Terry Smith of Arizona, Gayle Allen of Maine and Tami Mead of Soldotna; sister, Kay Corrado of Pennsylvania; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby, Mont.
