Cleaning now will make for better-looking spring

Posted: Tuesday, October 04, 2005

A lesson learned from a simple gardening technique could save our community the unsightly mess and time consuming cleanup in months to come.

Most gardeners have learned that autumn clearing of flower beds and gardens creates ease and considerable less mess in spring. By applying this practice to gathering the litter off our cities streets now will prevent some of the eyesore we are greeted with every year after breakup. If citizens would spend only 30 minutes collecting litter surrounding their neighborhoods our springtime could be what it s supposed to be; the emergence of new and burgeoning beauty instead of looking at old ugliness.
