WASHINGTON (AP) -- The state of Alaska is getting an additional $908,000 in unemployment insurance funds from the federal government.
It marks the third year the U.S. Department of Labor is distributing an additional $100 million in unemployment funds to the states.
''Getting money and services into the hands of the temporarily unemployed is crucial, especially for workers so sadly impacted by the September 11th attacks,'' U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao said in announcing the additional payment.
