Kiara Jane Washburn, infant daughter of Nora Walsh and Derrick Washburn of Soldotna, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. She was 4 months old.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Soldotna Church of God. Pastor Alan Humphries will officiate. A reception will follow the funeral in the church hall.
Kiara was born May 29, 2003, at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna.
"Kiara will never leave our minds. I can only wait and look forward to seeing her again and know she's in a much better place. Her soul will forever warm our hearts," her mother said.
Kiara was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Ramona Claypool and Patrick Walsh.
She is survived by her parents; brother, Keagan Washburn of Kenai; grandmother, Patricia Claypool-West and stepgrandfather, James West, both of Sterling; grandfathers, Kingsley Walsh of Dutch Harbor, Alaska and Ronald Washburn of Soldotna; grandparents, Mike and Rita Plummer of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; great-grandparents, Charles W. and FloAnne Claypool of Greensburg, Pa., Dorris West of Kodiak, Mel and Shirley Sturman and Don and Lil Washburn, all of Coeur d'Alene; aunts, Alexa and Ramona Walsh and Georgia West, all of Sterling and Christa Washburn of Coeur d'Alene; and an uncle, Keith West of Sterling.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
