Ceremony a success with community support

Posted: Thursday, October 05, 2006

Many thanks to all the individuals and groups who made the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness ceremony Sept. 16 such a wonderful success.

Grateful appreciation goes to the Heartbeat of Mother Earth Drummers for beginning the ceremony and setting the tone, to Soldotna Mayor Dave Carey for his wonderful proclamation and his enthusiasm, to Ken Duff and Matt Dammeyer for their words of wisdom and for their ongoing support of the FASD program, to Sue Biggs for her music and compassion, to all those who attended to express their solidarity, and for the organizers of the Recovery Rendezvous for letting us steal their show for a bit to make this happen.
