A little caring goes a long way in sprucing up WRCC facilities

The Women's Resource and Crisis Center would like to thank Team Tesoro and the Kenai Central High School Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams for the wonderful work they did during this year's United Way Day of Caring.

On Sept. 25, 44 energetic teen-agers and their coaches came to the Lee Shore Shelter to eagerly lend a hand in organizing our community clothes closet, raking leaves and cleaning up the grounds around the Spruce Street facility.

Nine Team Tesoro members met at WRCC's Transitional Living Center with paint, ladders, rollers and smiles to scrape away what was left of the old trim and add a beautiful new coat of paint. They also planted two new bushes, donated during this year's Radiothon.

The new improvements make both facilities more welcoming to all that come to WRCC. How inspiring to see so much community involvement. Thank you.
