ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The body of a missing Anchorage man was found near Turnagain Pass, Alaska State Troopers said Friday.
A hiker found the body Thursday afternoon near mile 70.5 of the Seward Highway, troopers said. The dead man was identified as Tracy Dean McCracken, 35, who was last seen by his family on Monday.
The state medical examiner determined McCracken died of hypothermia, according to troopers spokesman Tim DeSpain.
Troopers are asking that people call them if they saw McCracken hitchhiking or with someone between Monday and Thursday.
McCracken was 3 feet 8 inches tall, wore a goatee and had long light hair. He sometimes wore glasses.
