ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded the state $1.4 million to develop information technology systems that support increased oil and gas production.
State agencies collaborated to design the project, which will allow them to post useful information to the Internet, simplify and automate parts of the permit coordination process and share a geographic information system.
Agencies participating in the two-year project include the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, the Division of Governmental Coordination, the Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Fish and Game.
