The boys and the girls cross country running teams took second place in the Region II championships Sept. 25. Brian Beeson placed first, winning his fourth straight individual title. Brooke Forsi was the top finisher for the girls team, placing fourth. Also contributing to the boys' score was Ryan Fowler, John Forsi, Marcus Brown, Mark Beeson and Hunter Clark. Finishers for the girls team include Tana Alsworth, Sara Wood, Sharon Lindow and Katilyn White.

The staff would like to congratulate eighth-grader Holly Kopp for her first-place finish at the borough junior high cross country meet Sept. 25.

Student of the Week awards go to Jacob Miller, Anna Feucht, Jamie Fenton, Keely Powers, Reid Schmelzenbach, Tyler Lingafelt, Reece O'Dell and Anna Nisler.

Music teacher Cindy Rehm announced that the Praise and Worship Jazz Band is practicing before school three days a week. Students are playing contemporary Christian music.

Chapel services are held every Wednesday morning in the school gym. This year, the high school students are the featured speakers for their chapel service. The staff congratulates the students willing to prepare and make a chapel presentation to their peers.
