All students will participate in the National BOOK IT Program. Every month reading goals will be given to each grade level. After a student reaches their goal, a pizza certificate will be awarded to the students. October goals already have been sent home.

The staff would like to congratulate the following students: second-grader Andi Reilly for improvement in journal writing; first-grader Kiana Cissell for improvement in study habits; and kindergartner Adaya Pollock for improvement in reading.

Students have begun a unit on safety. For show-and-tell Kayla McVeigh brought in a Smokey the Bear puppet with a fire safety book, Jacey Ross made a fire safety picture book, Connor Jones and Jessie Metz drew pictures on fire safety and fire fighting, and James Butler shared protective clothing for fire personnel. Students will continue their study of fire, personal and electrical safety and will add first aid. They are encouraged to continue to share items and information on the above topics.
