Tuberculosis tests will be given Monday through the week. They will be given to all seventh-graders and eighth-graders who are new to the district. For more information, call the school nurse.

The Elks Hoop Shoot contest will be held in physical education classes Oct. 13 and 14. Fitness testing in physical education classes begins Monday.

Picture retakes are Thursday. Students are reminded to bring their pictures with them.

The next Fortnightly is from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 22.

The staff would like to thank Arby's for its support for the intensive needs program.

October newsletters are out. If you do not receive one, notify the front office.

Intramural basketball for boys and girls has begun and it is not too late to join. Boys will practice from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and the girls will practice from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be a study hall offered for the girls.

This month more than 100 letters will be sent to Iraq from students for the Write a Letter to a Soldier campaign. In addition, the school would like to thank Marine David Nussbaum, recently returned from Iraq, for taking the time to meet with some of the students last Friday.

Students may still enter the design a yearbook cover contest. Entries are due by Halloween. The winning artist will receive a free 2004-05 yearbook. For more information, see Mr. Gustkey.
