4-H round-up set

The Cooperative Extension Service Kenai Peninsula District will host a 4-H round-up from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the office.

Community members interested in finding out more about the program are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 262-5824.

Chili feed fund-raiser set

Veco Alaska will host a chili feed fund-raiser to benefit the United Way from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at its fabrication shop at Mile 15.5 on the Kenai Spur Highway. The cost is $5 per bowl of chili. Dessert costs extra. For more information, call 283-7553.

First Friday dialogue set

The Center for Mediation and Community Dialogue will hold its First Friday Dialogue meeting at 7 p.m. Friday at the Kenai Peninsula College commons. The topic will be "If Katrina hit the Kenai, who would be left?" A potluck dinner will precede the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The purpose of the First Friday Dialogues is to bring people in the community together in a safe forum for listening, speaking and learning. For more information, call Chris Gehrett at 262-0367.

Internet class slated

The Kenai Community Library will offer a beginning Internet class from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the library. The topic will be e-mail basics. For more information, call 283-4378.

Blood drive planned

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive for the Blood Bank of Alaska from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Red Cross office at 503 Frontage Road in Kenai.

Christmas boutique scheduled

The 26th annual original Christmas boutique will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center.
